On October 29, 1979, the 50th anniversary of the crash of the stock exchange, tens of thousands of citizens converged on Wall Street to demand that the financial industry divest from nuclear power. More than a thousand trained participants then blocked the New York Stock Exchange in what was then the largest mass arrest in New York City history.
